Library Inductions

Library staff are always happy to offer inductions for students to help them to use the library and the electronic resources that we subscribe to.

Staff can arrange inductions for their classes by contacting library staff.  We are also happy to arrange inductions for evening classes.

Reading Groups

The first meeting of reading group number 1 was on Wednesday 7th December and the first meeting of group number 2 was on Thursday 15th December at 5 pm in the library.

A general discussion on reading habits took place, for example favourite books, authors, genres and anything else that sprung to mind, which ranged from cooking and kitchen goddesses, to Japanese and German literature!

Reading Group no. 1 is reading Small Island by Andrea Levy.  Reading Group no. 2 is reading We Need to Talk About Kevin by Lionel Shriver.

The library staff are happy that there has been such a positive response & feel confident that this is the bringing some of that’ feel good’ factor back to the College.

The next meeting dates are as follows:

Group 1: Wednesday 18th January 2006

Group 2: Thursday 26th January 2006

Resource Displays

Clydebank College Library regularly displays collections of resources, based on a different subject each month. We also promote fiction within the library in regular displays.

January sees the launch of our “Book of the Film” campaign, which includes titles such as The Hours by Michael Cunningham, The Joy Luck Club by Amy Tan, and Daniel Clowes’ Ghost World, as well as many more.

Our subject display is based on our Child Care and Education resources.

Hope to see you there!
